TERMS

TERMS OF PARTICIPATION.

Last updated 15 March 2026. These terms govern participation in Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026 across all 14 LATAM and Caribbean countries.

1. Eligibility

Participation is open to student teams of 3–5, aged 14–22, enrolled in a recognised secondary school or university within one of the 14 participating countries. Each student may only join one team per edition.

A teacher-mentor employed by the participating school is required. Samsung employees, immediate family members of judges, and members of the jury are not eligible to participate.

2. Submissions

Submissions must be original work produced for this programme, prepared between the opening date and the national deadline. Plagiarism, AI-generated content presented as original work, or previously published projects are grounds for disqualification.

Each submission must include: a 90-second video pitch, a project brief (up to 4 pages), a functioning or simulated prototype, and photographic evidence of user testing.

3. Intellectual property

Teams retain full intellectual property of their projects. By participating, you grant Samsung a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use project materials (images, videos, written descriptions) for programme-related communication, marketing, and archival purposes.

Finalist teams who wish to commercialise their prototype retain full rights to do so; Samsung may offer optional support but does not claim ownership.

4. Prizes

Prize structure varies slightly by country. Baseline prizes include Samsung Galaxy device packages for team members and school, cash grants for prototype development, and an all-expenses-paid trip for winning team + mentor to the Global Showcase.

Prizes are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash equivalent. Tax obligations on prizes are the responsibility of the recipient.

5. Disqualification

Samsung reserves the right to disqualify any team for: plagiarism, misrepresentation of team composition, violation of these terms, unsafe prototype (endangers testers), or conduct that brings the programme into disrepute.
